To understand proteins at molecular level.

Protein is the most fundamental element in biological systems. The activities of living organism are maintained by a number of chemical reactions mediated by proteins as well as the protein dynamics represented by allosteric effects. The elucidation of the mechanism at the molecular level has been the biggest goal.
Our group is studying the proteins, such as photoreceptors and fluorescent proteins, by using vibrational spectroscopies. We are also developing a new spectroscopic measurement based on chiroptical and low-temperature methods.
